Cake Ingredients:

¾ cup vegetable oil

1 ½ cups sugar

2 eggs

2 Tbl red food coloring

1 cup buttermilk

1 tsp vinegar

2 cups flour

1 tsp vanilla paste or extract

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp cocoa

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350.

Beat oil, sugar, and eggs together until well-blended.

Add next 4 liquid ingredients, mixing well.

Add dry ingredients and beat together another 2 minutes.

Bake in greased bundt pan for 25 to 35 minutes or until center springs back when lightly touched.

Two 8” round pans may also be used instead of the bundt pan, if desired, decreasing the baking time by about 5 minutes.

Cool completely and frost.

Frosting Recipe:

6 Tbl flour

1 ½ cups milk

1 ½ cups butter ( Do not substitute)

1 ½ tsp Vanilla paste or extract

Directions:

Cook flour and milk over medium heat, stirring until thick and smooth.

Cool in refrigerator, stirring occasionally.

Meanwhile, cream butter, sugar, and vanilla together.

Add cooled milk mixture, beating 10 to 12 minutes until thick and creamy.
( I do this in the KitchenAid. You can also use a handheld mixture. You do not want to do this by hand.)
